Episode VIII of the main Star Wars film saga has an official title, Disney revealed on Monday: “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.”
Our first impression is that nothing related to Star Wars should ever make mention of the “last” anything. As far as we’re concerned, Star Wars should and will continue for all eternity and story lines and characters will never be complete. (OK, sorry, Han.)
Episode VII, “The Force Awakens,” ended with Rey finding Luke Skywalker and handing him his lightsaber. Mark Hamill teased that jumping off point for Episode VIII in a Facebook video last year.
“The Last Jedi” is written and directed by Rian Johnson. The film will be in theaters Dec. 15.
On Twitter, Star Wars fans had fun trying to imagine what Episode IX might be called if the universe is suddenly all out of Jedi.

I’m hoping Episode IX is titled “With a Kiss,” making the trilogy a complete sentence.
