As production wrapped on the Star Wars spinoff film he took over mid-stream, director Ron Howard thanked the cast and crew on Tuesday and finally revealed the name of the project.
“Solo: A Star Wars Story” will be the name of the movie dealing with the backstory of everyone’s favorite space smuggler. The standalone film — which reportedly doesn’t tie into the larger sci-fi saga — is said to provide details on the early days of Han Solo before he met Luke Skywalker and took on the Empire.
Last year, “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” followed a similar mold.

The film, due in theaters next May, will star Alden Ehrenreich as the title character, along with Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover and Woody Harrelson, among others. Howard took over in June after previous directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller left over creative differences with Lucasfilm.
