A new Google Trends map showing which words are misspelled most often in each state will have you doing a search of how to spell flabbergasted.

The map, released to mark the start of the annual Scripps National Spelling Bee, was based on search data from January to April and features a few surprises — or maybe it’s perfectly normal based on your own spelling chops, or lack thereof.

In Washington, pneumonia was the most misspelled. Hard to fault anyone with a raging fever for getting a few letters out of place in that one. Folks in Michigan and Maine struggled with the word as well.

In South Dakota, the top word is college. We’re not sure what this says about higher education in the state that is home to a monument honoring past presidents. But two states over, the good people of Wisconsin made us forget what was going on in South Dakota. The most searched word there is … Wisconsin.

Other highlights include Californians and New Yorkers not knowing how to spell beautiful; diarrhea being a problem in New Hampshire; and Rhode Island (liar) and Georgia (gray) struggling with the shortest words out of the 50 states.
