Tech has a big diversity problem, and Ada Developers Academy tackles that problem head-on.

The non-profit, fast-growing coding school offers a free software development training program for women, gender-diverse people and people of color, opening a door for more diverse software developers to get into the job market.

Now, the school is looking for a new executive director to take the helm as its current director moves on to new work. The executive director is responsible for all aspects of Ada’s operation, strategy and growth, including leading Ada’s small team of staff members.

The director will oversee Ada’s curriculum and internship program, which places students in paid internships at tech companies in Seattle, as well as the organization’s operations.

“I look forward to the next ED driving Ada’s expansion — the core program is doing really well, and is ready to go more broadly: career development and continued education for our alumni and potentially establishing programs in other cities with the partnerships we’ve built with software companies that have bases beyond Seattle,” Cynthia Tee, Ada’s outgoing executive director, told GeekWire in an email.

Ada was founded in 2013 and now graduates 96 students each year. Learn more about the executive director position and apply on GeekWork.
