Over time you’ve probably come to realize that giving away your collection of original Star Wars toys, or letting the dog chew on some of the them, probably wasn’t the wisest financial decision. That point will be further driven home when you set eyes on what’s available in an auction that could fetch more than half a million dollars.

The sale being run by Vectis Auctions out of the UK features hundreds of toys from a collection amassed over 40 years, according to the Daily Mail. It reports that the items from all over the world belong to a French fan of the films who has finally decided to sell.

Vectis describes the lot as “the best ever to come up for public auction” and says the sale includes many “Holy Grail” pieces. The star item is identified as a prototype action figure for the bounty hunter Boba Fett. It fires a tiny rocket, but was reportedly never put into production for fear of the choking hazard. It could fetch as much as £15-20,000.

The collection will be sold in three parts over two days, with parts one and two going today.

Browsing the auction website obviously reveals hundreds of items still in their original packaging. Does your Luke Skywalker figure still look this clean after all these years?
