On the reality TV show “Project Runway,” you’re either “in” or you’re “out.” Pokémon Go may still be fashionable when it comes to games of the moment, but how does it translate as real fashion?
Nina Garcia, creative director at Marie Claire and a longtime judge on “Runway,” tweeted a GIF that provides some connection between characters in the augmented reality game and men’s fashions on the runway.

The colors and style of the clothing, which don’t appear to be purposely modeled after Pokémon, are pretty spot on in some instances. Bulbasaur, Goldeen, Graveler, Pikachu and several more creatures are represented.
Anyone familiar with runway fashions should know that the looks can sometimes stray into bizarro world. It begs the question whether Garcia, known for her sometimes blunt critiques of contestants on TV, would send home a designer who trotted out a model who looked like a Poliwhirl.
