Kal Raman is taking on another high-level position at a large tech company.
The former Groupon COO and Drugstore.com CEO is now the chief digital officer at Samsung, according to a recent change on Raman’s LinkedIn profile.
Raman was most recently the CEO of Xome, a new digital-focused unit of Dallas-based Nationstar Mortgage.
Under Raman’s direction, Xome launched a new home-buying service in Seattle, allowing customers to easily purchase homes online, receiving 1 percent back on the purchase or sale. Xome invested heavily in Seattle, quickly growing its employee base to more than 50 people as of this past June.
But Raman left Xome this past December, receiving $600,000 in severance as part of his resignation. Xome continues to operate and Nationstar Mortgage said it plans to continue building out its office in Seattle.
Along with executive roles at Drugstore.com and Groupon, Raman also spent time leading teams at Amazon and Walmart.
