periscopegoproWatch out for extreme sports types snowboarding or skydiving in real time as the live-streaming app Periscope has integrated with action camera-maker GoPro, the companies announced Tuesday.

Periscope users will now be able to broadcast from a GoPro HERO4 Black or Silver camera and even toggle back to an iPhone camera, enabling different angles of the same broadcast for more dynamic storytelling.

In blog posts on their web sites, GoPro and Periscope touted the advantages of the new integration. GoPro said Periscope broadcasters gain “a new tool to help tell their stories more creatively” and “GoPro content creators now have a new platform and audience with Periscope and Twitter to share their experiences, live!”

periscopesnowGoPro isn’t wasting any time putting the partnership to the test as it promoted upcoming Periscope live streams from athletes competing in the X Games in Aspen, Colo., this week.

New Seattle-based company Sioeye introduced a live-streaming action camera called the Iris4G in November.
