An Egyptian student enrolled in a US flight school is in custody and facing deportation after posting threatening comments against Donald Trump to Facebook, according to a story in The Guardian newspaper.

Emad El-Sayed said on his Facebook page that he “wouldn’t mind serving a life sentence for killing this guy.” He added that he thought that such an act would be “doing the world a favour.” The comments have been since removed.

Trump has made a host of controversial statements that have offended different ethnic and religious communities. Trump has said that if he is elected he will ban Muslims from the United States.

After the FBI investigated and questioned El-Sayed, law enforcement officials chose not to press charges, but his visa has been revoked. Since October, El-Sayed has been a student at the Universal Air Academy in Los Angeles, The Guardian reported. It was one of the managers of the flight school who saw El-Sayed’s Facebook comments and alerted the FBI.

Threats against the US President or a presidential candidate are taken seriously by law enforcement. It is a felony to threaten a US president, members of the president’s family, and presidential candidates. A foreigner enrolled in a US flight school who posts threats on Facebook is begging for the slammer.

Foreign-born flight-school students were among the men who hijacked aircraft and flew them into the World Trade Center and Pentagon during the 9-11 attacks.
