Zones has replaced CEO Murray Wright with founder and former CEO Firoz Lalji. Wright was appointed as chief executive in 2013, taking over the position from Lalji.
Auburn, Wash.-based Zones sells hardware and software products to businesses, ranging from small businesses and enterprise institutions to healthcare providers and state or local governments.
While Wright was CEO, Lalji served chief strategy officer, chairman, and president of the company. Wright has left the company and hasn’t accepted any new positions, according to his LinkedIn. He previously served as president of Lenovo Canada and president of the Americas for Tech Data Corp.
Lalji will continue to hold the chairman and president positions. Before joining Zones as CEO in 1998, Lalji was a founding investor in the company. He also founded the Kits Cameras chain, which he sold in 1997. Lalji, who was born in Uganda, is also the founder and chairman of the Program for African Leadership Foundation, which grants scholarships to African students.
A Zones spokeswoman confirmed the leadership change, but declined to provide further details.
