Malcolm Gladwell already covered this premise in Outliers that if you practice something significantly on the regular, you’re bound to get really good at it.

The Expert in a Year challenge followed one guy, Sam Priestley, who attempted to practice ping pong every day for a year. His goal? To go from beginner to expert and break into the top 250 players in England.

Enjoy the footage of his journey in this video “1 Second (Almost) Everyday” (he didn’t quite make it every day, hence the “almost”), which follows his progress from month to month, including some training moments that would put a Vince Vaughn montage to shame.
