wilsonuberRussell Wilson wants to raise money for his football camp and Uber is helping him do so.

Those who take an Uber ride on Friday or Saturday will notice a “donate” button on their app, which will allow passengers to give $3 to the Russell Wilson Passing Academy (Wilson wears No. 3 on his jersey). Uber will match all donations up to $5,000.

The star Seahawks quarterback hosts his football camp in cities across the nation to help kids aged 8-to-17 improve their skills on the field, while also “encouraging kids to develop high character and moral standards, a sense of competitiveness and fair play, a respect for authority, service to others, and a love of God, family, and country.”

Passing Academy attendees typically have to pay $175 for the one-day camp, but the campaign with Uber will help Wilson give underprivileged youth a chance to attend.

Uber last year teamed up with other Seahawks players to help garner support for the service in Seattle. The timing of the promotion with Wilson is no coincidence, as the Seahawks host Carolina at 5:15 p.m. PT on Saturday in its first playoff game.
