Mobile industry veterans Adam Flanders and Kevin Flynn know a thing about developing a break-out hit in mobile gaming.

And, now they want to help others do it, too. Today, the two are officially announcing a newly formed company, called Mobile Game Partners, specializing in marketing and publishing mobile games.

Prior to founding the company, both Flanders and Flynn worked at Z2, the Seattle-based game company, which was acquired last week by King Digital Entertainment, the maker of the insanely popular hit, Candy Crush Saga.

While the timing of their announcement is only coincidental since both executives left early last year to start the company, they are hoping that their stint at the company had something to do with the Z2’s sale. “While we certainly hope that some of the initiatives we worked on at Z2 helped make them a more attractive buyout target, our starting MGP didn’t have anything directly to do with the sale,” Flynn said.

Mobile Game Partners, or MGP, will be operating from both Seattle and Los Angeles, where Flanders and Flynn live, respectively.

“We feel it’s good to have our feet on the ground in both locations, and it’s nice that the Bay Area is right in the middle,” Flynn said.

MGP already has a number of clients, including Seattle game companies Ember Entertainment and Zhurosoft.

At Z2, Flanders was SVP business development and marketing, working on hits, such as Battle Nations and Metalstorm and Flynn was head of publishing.

King, the maker of the hit game Candy Crush Saga said it hopes Z2’s games, like Battle Nations and Metalstorm, will help diversify its line-up of mostly casual titles. The deal includes $45 million in upfront cash, and as much as $105 million more if certain milestones are met.

Prior to Z2, Flanders spent more than six years running sales and marketing for Glu Mobile, where he launched more than 100 games, including such hits as Deer Hunter, Gun Bros., and Contract Killer. In addition to working at Z2, Flynn worked at Kabam, where he helped with hits, such as Kingdoms of Camelot and Dragons of Atlantis.

The executives plan to help companies publish mobile game titles, by providing them representation at all of the major platforms, including Apple, Google and Amazon. Other consulting services will include feedback on user flow, user acquisition, App Store optimization and launching games globally. For its services, MGP will ask revenue-share deal, in which it will receive a portion of revenue from in-app purchases and advertising.
