tweetdeckPeople hoping to spend their lunch hour using TweetDeck are in for a rude surprise this afternoon. Some users are reporting that the client isn’t allowing them to log in to their accounts in order to access their feeds.

One such user is GeekWire’s own Frank Catalano, who said that he was kicked out to TweetDeck’s login screen on Chrome, and tried to log back in twice, to no avail. Once he entered his password and two-step authentication code, a spinning icon showed up (which usually means that the app is processing a login). That icon spun and spun, before spitting him back to the initial log-in page.

Twitter hasn’t updated its service status page with any information about the outage, but a search shows that the problem appears to have started around half an hour ago. It’s not clear what the cause of the issue is, either.

Users who need to get their tweet fix can still access the social network through Twitter’s website and mobile apps, which appear unaffected by the issue.

We’ve reached out to Twitter for comment, and will update this post when we hear back.

Update (1:16 p.m.): Things seem to be back to normal. Still no word from Twitter about the cause of the outage.
