Ask anyone, but coming up with THE name for your startup has got to be one of the toughest challenges of starting a new business.
Now, there’s an app for that.
Via Product Hunt, that app is Namewhale (great name, btw). You enter a bunch of words that you think speaks to what you do, and it will crunch out some names for your company.
Created by an iOS developer Mo Bitar, he writes via Product Hunt, “Think about it — hundreds of startups are being created every single day, while domain availability continues to diminish by the second. Your best shot at getting a good domain is to completely make up a word. Making up a word is hard though.
“Namewhale is different. It parses the look, feel, and style of the words you give it to create completely new words that have similar styles.”
Here, a few examples based on some awesome businesses I wish existed in Seattle:
Puppies + champagne + music + bubbles:
Beach + hammocks + rooftop + bar:
Alexander Skarsgard + lookalikes + lounge + cupcakes:
Granted, most of these are throwaways, but I’ll let you know how it goes after I launch “pupubble” next week.
