In probably one of the fastest turnarounds in startup history, the 22-year-old Australian who half-jokingly put up ShipYourEnemiesGlitter just sold his site for $85,000.

According to the Guardian, Mathew Carpenter unloaded his fledgling business in under two weeks after several pleas on the Internet to stop buying his “horrible glitter product.” The buyer? No one knows yet. Carpenter sold it via Flippa, where the bidding wars “rapidly rose to $70,000 in the first days on sale, before stalling until the last hours, when a further $15,000 was added on the price.”

The Guardian also reports that Carpenter had more than $20,000 in sales in four days, after which he stopped taking orders due to overwhelming demand. He says he will fill those orders, admitting there will be a “bit of a delay.”

We first reported the Ship Your Enemies Glitter phenomenon when it quickly went viral shortly after its launch. It’s already inspired a number of copycat sites, like Glitterbombs and  “Mat Won’t But We Will,” neither of which has the wit or charm of the original, but there you have it.

We don’t know what’s next for Mat, but we’re hoping he somehow finds his way to hooking up with these guys. Something tells us they could come up with some diabolically entertaining stuff.
