twitterThe NFL and Twitter are teaming up again to deliver more football-related content to your feed.

Starting this season, the NFL will create content specifically for Twitter, like in-game highlights, breaking news and analysis, top plays, custom game recaps, infographics, behind-the-scenes content, and relevant archived video.

This multi-year partnership builds upon the initial advertising deal the NFL and Twitter first inked back in 2013 as part of Twitter’s Amplify program that helps TV content owners promote programming with short ads on Twitter feeds.

“Twitter users and brands cannot get enough NFL video and news, and they’ll now get more of it, and faster, than ever before,” Glenn Brown, head of Twitter Content Partnerships and Amplify, said in a statement. “Over the past two years, NFL content on Twitter has seen best-in-class user engagement rates, and the expanded partnership will bolster the fan experience on the platform.”

After making the NFL announcement — and after interim CEO Jack Dorsey bought more stock — Twitter’s share price jumped 9 percent on Monday. However, it is down nearly 3 percent today, and nearly 40 percent in the last six months.

The NFL has similar content-related deals in place with other tech giants like Facebook and YouTube.
