Figuring out if — and how — you can use your smartphone while traveling is a huge pain. One website wants to help you out with that.

Will My Phone Work is a simple site that allows you to enter your make, model and where you’re traveling to see if you have service there.

“Will My Phone Work was created to solve one single problem – How can I find out if a certain cellphone, smartphone, tablet, or other mobile device will work with a certain mobile network carrier?” states the site.

The site’s creators, a group of “mobility enthusiasts,” write that they’ve spent months gathering the info and packaging it into this “simple, no-nonsense” website. They add that they make every effort to ensure their info is accurate and up-to-date. So far, their database covers 2,000 mobile devices and more than 800 carriers worldwide.

The free service is experiencing a lot of traffic right now, so the creators are moving to a faster host. Check back if you have problems connecting.
