Those strolling downtown will get a treat this week — a jet is parked at Westlake today through Sunday for the Boeing Seafair Air Show.
The full-size L-39C Albatros jet, which can reach up to 565 mph, is courtesy of the Breitling Jet Team, supported by Swiss watchmaker Breitling. Thursday at noon, the jet’s team will be at Westlake to meet aviation fans.
According to a Breitling, the team of seven pilots is the “world’s largest professional civilian aviation team performing on jets.” Most of the team has been together for over a decade and performed in 38 countries, but this is the team’s first appearance at Seafair in Seattle as part of a North American tour.
