summit sponsor postThe GeekWire Summit is a little more than two weeks away, on Oct. 1 and 2 in downtown Seattle. Today we’re pleased to announce some of the newest additions to the lineup of speakers and sessions at the Pacific Northwest’s top technology conference — including New York Times reporter David Streitfeld moderating a panel about Amazon.

Tickets are available here for the GeekWire Summit. Now in its fourth year, the event continues to expand as a destination for tech and business leaders to share insights about the future of technology and innovation.

With his colleague Jodi Kantor, Streitfeld captured the attention of the tech world as the co-author of the widely read story, “Inside Amazon: Wrestling Big Ideas In A Bruising Workplace.”

We invited Streitfeld to moderate a panel of former Amazon executives and employees at the GeekWire Summit, with the goal of learning from their experiences at the company. Confirmed panelists for this session include Nadia Shouraboura, the former Amazon VP who now leads high-tech clothing retailer Hointer; and Dave Cotter, the SquareHub co-founder who was previously an Amazon general manager.

The idea is not to find out how many times they cried at their desks, but instead to better understand the phenomenon of Amazon through the eyes of people who have experienced it first-hand. What does Amazon’s approach say about the future of work? And can the company adapt its culture as it continues to grow? The panel will share their insights into these questions and more.

The panel on Amazon will be just one of the highlights of the 2015 GeekWire Summit, presented by Bank of America, taking place Oct. 1 and 2 at the Sheraton Seattle.

Also new to the lineup is Lori Garver, the Former NASA Deputy Administrator and general manager of the Air Line Pilots Association, who has been on the front lines of the development of the U.S. commercial space industry. She’ll be interviewed on stage by veteran space reporter and GeekWire contributing writer Alan Boyle.

Previously announced speakers include Xbox chief Phil Spencer; New York Times reporter John Markoff; Concur President Elena Donio; 500 Startups founding partner Dave McClure; Highway1 leader Brady Forrest; investor and activist Nick Hanauer; award-winning science fiction writer Nancy Kress; former NASA astronaut and Sentinel Mission founder Ed Lu; DocuSign founder Tom Gonser; Glassdoor CEO Robert Hohmanand many others.

Also back by popular demand: “Inventions We Love” — on-stage demos of fun and cutting-edge hardware innovations. We’ve also got a few fun surprises up our sleeves.

We’ll be highlighting more of the content and posting the full agenda later this week. See the GeekWire Summit event site for more details, and be sure to grab your tickets there or below below.
