The monk-like robe of Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi. The gilded suit of C-3PO. And the iron bikini worn by Princess Leia.
Those hand-crafted costumes and more than 50 others from the Star Wars films are now on display at Seattle’s EMP, part of an exhibit titled Star Wars and the Power of Costume.
The galactic experience is perfect for Star Wars fans who want to get up close and personal with their favorite characters. Now, we’re extremely excited to announce that access to the Star Wars costume exhibit will be open to all guests of the GeekWire Awards, taking place at 6 p.m. on May 7th at the EMP.
Yes, it doesn’t get geekier than this. Checking out a Star Wars exhibit at the GeekWire Awards!
We’re excited to partner with EMP and our great friends at SMART Technologies to provide special access to the exhibit for all of our guests at the Awards. No extra ticket is required to check out the costume exhibit. Your ticket to the Awards bash is all you need.
Tickets are selling fast for the GeekWire Awards — where we’ll announce winners in 13 categories, from Geekiest Office Space to Next Tech Titan to Startup of the Year. (The winners were chosen in community voting over the past two weeks). We’re expecting tickets to sell out by early next week, with more than 800 people attending.
So, get your geek on next Thursday, joining us to celebrate the very best in the Seattle tech community — and getting a chance to stare down a life-sized Chewbacca!
A big thanks to GeekWire Awards presenting sponsor, Wave, for helping to make this special night possible.
