Expedia this morning confirmed that it will move to Seattle, buying the former Amgen waterfront campus for nearly $229 million and relocate from Bellevue by 2018. It’s a major change for the company and its 3,000 employees in the region, with significant implications for the city’s transportation infrastructure.
But hey, take a look at this amazing campus. Expedia says it will need to make major renovations to convert the research-and-development campus into a pure office complex, but the picturesque former Amgen facility looks to be a major selling point for the company, and will no doubt ease the transition for employees.
