Apptio CFO Sean Boyle is stepping down after 16 months on the job, leaving for an undisclosed finance executive position at a large Fortune 50 technology company in the Northwest. Boyle previously worked at Amazon.com — where he served as vice president of investor relations — and Ford Motor Co.

Apptio co-founder and former CFO Kurt Shintaffer will take on the CFO duties as the company looks for a replacement. A spokesperson said that Boyle’s decision to move on will not have an impact on the company’s growth or financing plans. Bellevue-based Apptio — which has raised $136 million in venture funding to date — has been discussed as a possible IPO candidate.

“This has been a very difficult decision for Sean due to his passion for Apptio’s mission and relationship with the team, but we wish him well as he embarks on this this exciting new opportunity,” said Apptio CEO Sunny Gupta in a statement. “As we embark on a search for a new CFO, our finance department is left in the capable hands of our co-founder & SVP of Finance and Accounting, Kurt Shintaffer, who will be acting CFO. This change will have no impact on the strategy, operations, or trajectory of our business. We will continue growing and marching towards the future with our trademark Apptio drive and determination.”

Apptio sells software and services for managing corporate IT departments, with the software used by organizations such as Cisco, Cox Automotive and others.
