FU2016: That’s the thought left in many viewers heads after last night’s Republican presidential debate. But not for the reasons you might think.
It’s the tagline that ended Netflix’s surprise announcement that House of Cards will return for a fourth season in March. FU, of course, stands for Frank Underwood, the show’s sinister antihero, who addresses the audience from the Oval Office at the end of a satirical ad spot. The commercial starts out like an ordinary political ad with wholesome scenes of American life, but eventually reveals itself as an unlikely trailer.
Like the voice of Netflix itself, the ad ends with Frank Underwood declaring, “America, I’m just getting started with you.”
