LAS VEGAS — Sony today announced that its newest flagship smartphone will be available exclusively on T-Mobile.
The Xperia Z1S is a revised version of Sony’s Xperia Z1, which went on sale around the world outside of the U.S. four months ago.
The Android-based Z1S features a 20.7-megapixel camera, 2GB of RAM, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and is waterproof.
Everything else about the Z1S is nearly the same as the international Z1, aside from more storage space (32 GB vs. 16 GB), a moved headphone jack and integration with the PlayStation app.
The Xperia Z1S will debut Jan. 22 and sell for $22 per month for 24 months or $528 outright. Preorders will be accepted online starting Jan. 13.
This is the second partnership for Sony and T-Mobile, which partnered last summer on the Xperia Z.
