halopax21 Hundreds of Halo fans packed Benaroya Hall this morning as executives from Microsoft’s 343 Industries detailed some upcoming features for the new Halo: Master Chief Collection.

As part of this weekend’s PAX Prime game convention in Seattle, 343 announced that the Halo 2 Anniversary game will feature remastered audio from Skywalker Sound along with new tracks from Misha Mansoor and Steve Vai. Gamers will be able to toggle between old and new audio modes.

343 also discussed a remastered version of the popular Lockout map, which was redone to add new elements. There was also a short demo that showed off the remastered games running in high-definition 1080p video.

And in perhaps what was the most geeky proposal I’ve seen, a Halo fan dressed as Mister Chief knelt down on one knee just before the panel discussion began and proposed to his future spouse, who was in a full ODST costume.

Microsoft first announced the Master Chief Collection at the E3 conference in June, which will give gamers a chance to play a remastered compilation of its classic Halo games in a unified experience for its Xbox One later this year. The compilation, to sell for $59.99 on Nov. 11, puts Halo 1, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4 all on one disc, with more than 100 original multiplayer maps running in high-def 1080p video at 60 frames per second on dedicated servers.
