Banners-Orange-200x225We’re excited to officially announce the third annual GeekWire Summit, and provide some early details about the content and speakers we’re lining up for this new installment of our signature tech conference, set for Oct. 2 in downtown Seattle.

The GeekWire Summit, presented by title sponsor CenturyLink, brings together top CEOs, business leaders, developers, marketers and many others from the Pacific Northwest and around the country for a conversation about the future of technology.

A limited number of advance tickets are available now on the event site or below. Sign up today to reserve your spot at a special rate, before ticket sales are opened up more broadly.

We’ve got a standout agenda in the works for this year. Here’s a sneak peek to whet your appetite — just a sampling of the speakers who will be joining us for this content-filled day.

Neil Ashe, the global head of Walmart.com
Neil Ashe, the global head of Walmart.com

Neil Ashe, Walmart’s president and CEO of Global eCommerce, will share insights on the rapidly changing landscape for online retail, from the perspective of the global retail giant, one of Amazon.com’s biggest competitors. Prior to joining Walmart, Ashe was the president of CBS Interactive, and he will bring a wealth of business and technology experience to the GeekWire Summit stage.

Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher, veteran technology journalists and the co-founders of Re/code, will be joining us for a lively interview about the future of technology and media, the view from Silicon Valley, and their own experience as entrepreneurs. (We’ll do our best to make them feel comfortable without their signature red chairs.) Be sure to check out this in-depth profile of Swisher by New York magazine.

Mark Vadon, the co-founder and chairman of Zulily, will offer an inside view on the journey from startup to public company, from the perspective of the fast-growing daily deals site for moms and kids. Vadon, a Blue Nile veteran, has kept a relatively low profile as Zulily has taken off, so we’re especially pleased to have him join us.

We’re proud that this has become the premier technology conference in the Northwest, and this is only a taste of what’s to come. Stay tuned for more speakers, and some surprises, as well.

In years past, our speakers have given attendees early details on what’s coming in tech funding, the wireless industry, devices, e-commerce, photography, media, space exploration, and much more.

Check out this post from last year to get a sense for this unique event. Mark your calendars, grab those advance tickets below, and see you on Oct. 2!

A big thank to our sponsors for helping to make this event possible, including CenturyLink, Perkins Coie, the Technology Association of Oregon, Tableau, Frontier Business Edge, EMC Isilon, Davis Wright Tremaine, Wave Business Solutions, Avalara, Zillow, Fresh Consulting, Moz, First Tech Federal Credit Union and more.
