We’ve got an especially fun GeekWire radio show for you this week, with two special guests in the studio: Andy Liu, the CEO of Buddy TV; and Jonathan Sposato, the GeekWire chairman and PicMonkey CEO. Both have unique perspectives on the tech world, not only as technology executives but also as angel investors who help fund new ventures in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

We start with a rundown of the latest developments in the world of streaming video, including Amazon’s exclusive content deal with HBO and the U.S. Supreme Court’s deliberations in the case of the Aereo streaming technology company.

Playing and singing with this week’s App of the Week, “Four Chords” guitar karaoke

We also dive into the details of the new Amazon Fire TV, as reviewed by Andy in a recent guest post on GeekWire that also got the attention of Amazon.

Our App of the Week is an entertaining one: the Four Chords guitar karaoke app, which is a great way for casual guitar players to learn new songs and have fun playing basic tunes. I’m a hack on the guitar, but Jonathan is a great singer, and we give an (unrehearsed!) demo of the Four Chords app on the iPad with a rendition of “Let it Be” during this segment.

And finally, both Andy and Jonathan share their thoughts on what’s grabbing their attention as tech investors these days, and where the startup world is headed.

Listen to the show in the audio player below or via this MP3 file.

Name that Tech Tune: What TV show is associated with this song? If you think you know the answer, send it to contest@geekwire.com for a chance to win a pair of tickets to the GeekWire Awards on May 8. From the pool of correct answers, we’ll pick one person at random to win a pair of tickets.
