Zillow iPad Relaunch - drawNo wonder that Zillow is investing resources in mobile. The Seattle online real estate company says that 55 percent of visits now come from mobile devices, and that 89 homes were viewed per second on Zillow from a mobile device in March. (That compares to 75 homes per second in February).

To make sure that home shoppers keep coming back, Zillow today announced a series of enhancements to its iOS apps, including a new home screen and restructured navigation.

“Based on consumer feedback and reviews, as well as analysis of usage patterns, the enhanced design allows users to more easily access all the information Zillow has to offer and to customize their experience based on their goals,” writes CEO Spencer Rascoff in a blog post. “Additionally, because more than 70 percent of homeowners have a mortgage, we’ve added financial tools and the rich shopping experience of Zillow Mortgage Marketplace into the iPad app.”

As we reported last week, Zillow’s overall traffic is on the rise in part because of the strengthening housing market in certain areas of the country. It topped 50 million unique visitors in March, a 55 percent increase over the same month last year.
