Gas Powered Games CEO Chris Taylor

Last week, we reported on the odd story of how Gas Powered Games CEO Chris Taylor had to let go of his entire staff due to the struggling Kickstarter campaign for GPG’s new game Wildman.

Now Taylor is on YouTube again and it’s not looking good for the industry vet.

Taylor, who is scheduled to speak on a “Legends of Games” panel at Thursday’s Power of Play gaming conference in Bellevue, detailed his company’s financial shortcomings and complaints about Kickstarter during an hour-long interview with Matt Barton

Right now, the campaign sits at $359,000 raised with 17 days to go — a far cry from the $1.1 million goal. In the video, Taylor says it’s a “longshot” that the game will be funded in time.

Last week, Taylor posted a video on Kickstarter himself, asking viewers if he should continue the campaign. He is still posting video updates to demonstrate further details into the game.

Forbes spoke with Taylor yesterday and said he would “definitely love to talk to anyone interested in buying the company or financing Wildman.”

Thursday’s Power of Play event will feature speakers from game studios like Bungie and Z2Live. New games, like Infinite Scuba, will be available to demo. GeekWire will be there Thursday to bring you the coverage.
