“Tits & Glass” is back … kind of.

titsandglassEarlier this month, Seattle-based adult app marketplace Mikandi got lots of attention for releasing the first-ever pornography app for Google Glass that allowed people to record sexual content on their Glass and share it with the Mikandi community.

But just as they came out with “Tits & Glass,” Google updated its platform developer policies with a new section that banned sexually explicit material.

Even though Google “spoiled the fun,” with its new policies, Mikandi went back to the drawing board and today relaunched a new “Tits & Glass” that filters out the “non-pornographic” content. However, those not using the Glass app will still be able to access explicit content through the “Tits & Glass” web platform.

“And because we don’t want you to get totally bored with your now-kinda-boring device, we partnered with top photographers around the globe to preload the app with irresistibly hot, *non-pornographic* photos of some of the world’s most beautiful models,” Mikandi wrote in today’s blog post. “You can access, vote, and comment on these photos through Glass.”

mikandiThe company said that they’re hopeful Google will eventually allow third-party Glassware that is not subject to the same adult content restrictions.

“If and when that day comes, we will happily update our app so adult Glass users can get the sexy content they want,” they wrote.

Mikandi was made famous when Apple CEO Steve Jobs criticized the existence of a “porn store” on the Android platform, alluding to MiKandi without mentioning it by name — resulting in a bonanza of publicity for the MiKandi service.

The company was founded in 2009 by Jesse Adams and Jennifer McEwan. Adams told us that the company is “growing nicely every month,” with more than 8,000 published apps, four million users and 3,000 new registered users per day. The team is made up of four full-timers and ten at various part-time levels.
