Updated below with answer and winners.

We’re trying something a little bit different with this week’s Name that Tech Tune contest — technically, we’re not asking you to name the tune this time around. That’s too easy, and in fact, I’ll just point out that the song is “Somebody That I Used To Know.”

Instead, the challenge is to name the type of equipment providing the main “vocals” in this version.

Up for grabs: We’re giving away two tickets to the next GeekWire Meetup and Elevator Pitch event, coming up Oct. 23 at the Crocodile Cafe in Seattle. We’ll pick two winners at random from the pool of correct answers.

Are you ready? Here is the tune. Can you name the equipment providing what’s normally the vocal part? Send your answer to contest@geekwire.com.

Name that Tech Tune is a regular feature of the GeekWire radio show and podcast, airing at 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. Saturdays and 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sundays on 97.3 KIRO-FM in Seattle, and running weekends on GeekWire.com.

For more context, here’s the full Name that Tech Tune segment from the show.

Do you know the piece of equipment? Send your answer to contest@geekwire.com for a chance to win the tickets. Check back next week for the answer and winner.

Update, 10/13: The answer: An HP Scanjet 3C scanner. (We also accepted “scanner” as an answer.) Check out the video below, and congrats to our winners, Thomas and Shawn.
