Believe it or not, Nintendo’s little Kirby character is 20 years old this year. (He doesn’t look a day over 2 to us.)

To commemorate his birthday, and drum up a little attention for an upcoming Kirby anniversary title for Nintendo Wii, the company this weekend will attempt to break the world record for “the most people blowing a chewing gum bubble simultaneously” — with pink gum, presumably.

The stunt will take place Saturday afternoon at the annual Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle, better known as PAX. With tens of thousands of people attending the sold-out expo, it should be relatively easy for the company to break the record of 304 people simultaneously blowing a bubble, as long as they can fit in the room.

If you’re attending PAX, this news release has details on how to take part. Nintendo will be giving out Kirby shirts to make the photo op that much better.

And yes, in case you’re wondering, Kirby himself will be there, as well.
