Jason Grimes, a former Jobster, Microsoft and Apex Learning employee, has joined RescueTime as vice president of marketing. In the new role, Grimes says that he will help beat “the productivity drum” and assist RescueTime generate new revenue streams. The Y Combinator-backed startup was founded by ex-Jobster employee Tony Wright who left last year and is now dabbling in several startup projects. RescueTime helps busy workers understand how they spend their time online.

Valuevine CEO Neil Crist has been named to the advisory board of the Location Based Marketing Association, an international organization that promotes location-based services. Like Grimes and Wright (featured above), Crist also previously worked at Jobster.

Point Inside, the Seattle provider of mobile maps for shopping malls and airports, has named Todd Sherman as chief marketing officer. Sherman previously served as vice president of business development at Mercent, and beforethat worked at Amazon.com as director of strategic alliances. In a release, Sherman said that “the convergence of smartphones, apps and micro-location capabilities is creating the most significant change in the retail landscape in the last 10 years.” Point Inside is led by Josh Marti, a former Qualcomm veteran.

Ben Erpelding

Optimum Energy has named Ben Erpelding to the position of vice president of engineering and solution architecture. He’s served as the Seattle company’s director of engineering since 2007. Consulting-Specifying Engineer Magazine named Erpelding as one of the 40 Top Engineers Under 40. Optimum’s online service helps building owners maximize energy efficiency around heating and air conditioning systems.

Expedia announced today that Patricia Zuccotti, the Bellevue company’s principal accounting officer, plans to retire, after the company’s appointment of a successor.
