GeekWire's Red Russak sports a stache. Can you top this?

Have you noticed a little extra facial hair around the office this month?

Yep, it’s Movember — the month formerly known as November in which guys across the globe are growing moustaches of all varieties in order to raise funds for prostate cancer research.

We’ve noticed a little extra facial hair around GeekWire’s HQ in the past few days. And we were especially inspired by the photo below of Gist founder and GeekWire Newsmaker T.A. McCann who is participating in the Movember challenge.

Now, we’re opening up this facial hair frenzy for some friendly competition among Seattle tech geeks.

In celebration of this one-of-a-kind holiday, we’re offering a special 15 percent discount to the GeekWire Gala for guys (and the significant others who’ve put up with them this month) who submit photos of their handlebars, goatees, walruses, Fu Manchus and other facial hair creations.

To enter, just email a photo of you and your moustache to GeekWire community manager and red-whiskered whirlwind Red Russak at red@geekwire.com. Deadline is noon on November 30th.

Everyone who enters the competition, will get a 15 percent discount to the gala where we’ll be celebrating the top 25 GeekWire Newsmakers of the Year and “geeks who give back” with a monumental 2012 wall calendar.

From the pool of photos, we’ll choose one lucky “Mo Bros” who’ll be recognized at the gala with a special prize package that will be the envy of Magnum P.I.

We’ve got a lot of other fun things in store for the big night, from Star Wars-themed games to a “best dressed” competition. Stay tuned for more details on that.

For now, send us your geeky “stache” photos!!

Thanks to our sponsors — ZillowBingFilterFacebook, Startup Weekend and Heinz Marketing — for helping to make the GeekWire Gala possible. Details and tickets for the event here.
