Online marketplace eBay will launch a new “Guaranteed Delivery” initiative in the US starting this summer, promising delivery in three days or less on 20 million items, including “millions” that will come with free shipping. The move, and eBay’s pledge for “more precise delivery dates for shoppers,” could make eBay more competitive with Amazon, which has been steadily building its Amazon Prime membership program, including its core benefit of free two-day shipping.
