Nicki Minaj will not be played by a man who doesn’t have unlimited data.
That’s the message in a quick and fun new T-Mobile ad that features the hip-hop star promoting the Bellevue, Wash.-based wireless carrier’s new unlimited data plan, called T-Mobile One.
Minaj catches her man, named Steven, sitting in a bar “snapping” with a Snapchat icon. She calls him out: “You’ve been streaming my videos all morning now you’re with this thing?”
Bumbling Steven says Verizon limits his data and he had to choose between the “Anaconda” singer and the ghost on a yellow background. Minaj practically eye rolls Steven out of the bar and then heads off, with Snapchat, in search of a man with unlimited data.
T-Mobile CEO John Legere and Minaj shared their obvious love for the new ad on Twitter:
Thank u @johnlegere ~ in LOVE with the spot AND the service ? ~ #TMobileOne https://t.co/Rn4cbiI5Pc
