If you were thinking about rockin’ out with your selfie stick out this year, you can pretty much forget it.

Major music festivals Coachella and Lollapalooza are the latest to join the ever-growing ban on selfie sticks, according to Huffington Post/AP.

It does make sense — maybe more so than museums — to ban selfie sticks at music festivals. Not only do you have the crowds to contend with, you also have the additional problem of alcohol fueling potential accidents and incidents.

Currently, there’s no ban on selfie sticks for Seattle-area major music fests, including Sasquatch and Bumbershoot. We’ve reached out to find out their policies, so stay tuned.

If this keeps up, the only place you’ll be able to whip out your selfie stick is at home. And maybe that’s the way it should be.
