Instacart announced that it will offer one-hour delivery from Central Co-op starting today. The company will deliver items from Central Co-op’s Capitol Hill location to several Seattle neighborhoods, including: Ballard, Capitol Hill, Downtown, Eastlake, Fremont, Georgetown, Green Lake, Greenwood, Interbay, Laurelhurst, Madrona, Madison Park, Northeast Seattle, Queen Anne, South Lake Union, South Seattle, U District and West Seattle.

Central Co-op owners can enter their owner number when ordering through Instacart to have their spending added to patronage dividends.

Instacart now offers delivery from Whole Foods, Costco, Safeway, QFC, Uwajimaya, Petco, and Central Co-op in Seattle.

Instacart charges $3.99 for two-hour delivery, and $5.99 for one-hour delivery when orders of $35 or more are placed. Unlike Amazon Fresh, which operates its own grocery distribution facilities, Instacart employs more than 4,000 personal shoppers who hand-pick grocery items at established stores such as Whole Foods, Costco and Kroger. The company also offers an $99 annual membership that eliminates delivery fees for orders over $35.

The San Francisco-based startup raised $220 million in February after reeling in $44 million seven months prior. Instacart is operating in 16 cities and grew its revenue by 10X last year, while doubling from Q3 to Q4.
