code-fellows-logo-shieldCode Fellows is expanding the reach of its education programs for developers once again by opening up a new program in Chicago. The Seattle-based code school is bringing its Full-Stack JavaScript Development Accelerator course to the Windy City late this spring to give students valuable knowledge to grow a web development career.

The course will take place from May 11 to July 3 at 1871, a hub for digital startups that’s located in The Merchandise Mart on Chicago’s Near North Side. It’s an intensive course that’s designed to help developers with about two years of experience further build their skill sets and help them advance their careers. Like Code Fellows’s other programs, candidates who don’t land a job offer 9 months after completing the course will get their tuition refunded.

For the first four weeks, students will focus on building back-end web applications using the popular Node.js framework. After that, they’ll develop apps using AngularJS, a front-end framework for web development.

“We hope to play a pivotal role in Chicago’s technology community by fostering the critical development of the area’s brightest programming minds, and helping the city’s most innovative companies connect with them,” Code Fellows CEO Kristin Smith said in a press release.

The expansion is a good sign for Code Fellows, which launched in January 2013, and expanded its courses to Portland in September of last year. So far, the company has graduated 340 people from its Development Accelerator courses to date, with an average starting salary of $75,600 per year.
