This is a smashing idea. A Canadian photographer took pictures of a local Star Wars troop posing with animals up for adoption.

As reported by CNET, Rohit Saxena took pictures of members from Eastern Ontario’s Capital City Garrison, dressed as a Stormtrooper, Tusken Raider and Imperial informant Garindan, as they posed with dogs, cats, rabbits and even guinea pigs for the Ottawa Humane Society.

“To me, the important thing is telling a fun and positive story about what animals shelters are and do, and the animals you’ll meet there,” Saxena told CNET. “That said, I also love that it worked out that we had more ‘Star Wars’ villains, and that we got to see their soft and fun side.”

You can view more of Saxena’s work here. And you should. It’s pretty amazing.
