SurfacePro3We are committed to the Surface Pro 3.

That’s the vibe from Microsoft’s blog post today directed at businesses who may be wondering about the company’s long-term plans for its newest tablet.

“Businesses can buy with confidence,” writes Microsoft Surface General Manager Brian Hall. “We are here to stay.”

The post explains how Microsoft will continue to update the Surface’s “security and manageability capabilities,” while also continuing to add new accessories over time.

Here’s a statement from Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella:

“We believe a strength of the Microsoft platform for enterprise is the rich ecosystem of hardware and applications developed by our partners, the community at large, and some of our own teams at Microsoft. In particular with Microsoft Surface Pro 3 we are now offering an enterprise-class device that can deliver great end user productivity. Microsoft is putting its full and sustained support behind the ongoing Surface program as one of a number of great hardware choices for businesses large and small.”

Microsoft notes that certain Surface Pro 3 accessories, like the Type Covers and Docking Station, will be compatible with “the next generation of the ‘Pro’ line of Surface.” The company also said that the tablet will “continue to support Windows 8.1 AND of course be upgrade-able when Windows 10 is released.”

Microsoft also said today that it will offer a limited time Surface Laptop Replacement Bundle that gives customers a $150 discount when they purchase a Surface Pro 3, Type Cover and Docking Station together. The company also noted how the Surface Pro 3 now qualifies for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star program for computers.
