Amazon.com now officially owns Twitch, as the Seattle online giant noted the completed acquisition today in an SEC filing. Amazon announced its $970 million acquisition of the game-streaming site — the company’s biggest in its 21-year history — on Aug. 25.

Twitch, which lets users stream their video game sessions, has more than 55 million monthly active users and has raised $35 million since debuting in 2011. The company’s CEO, Emmett Shear, said earlier this month that he sold Twitch to Amazon — rather than Google, which had been pursuing the site — to maintain independence. Meanwhile, Amazon said that Twitch was an “awesome fit” with its culture.
