skypeoutlook12Outlook.com users who want to make Skype phone calls without opening up another app can now do so from their email hub.

Starting today, Outlook.com officially rolled out Skype integration for all customers in North America, allowing users to call or message Skype contacts from inside the Outlook.com interface. Users can link their Skype accounts to Outlook.com and make their Skype contacts appear in their Outlook.com contact list.

Microsoft first announced this back in May and made the service available to select users. Now, though, the feature is working for those in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil and France.

Microsoft acquired Skype for $8.5 billion and has been gradually integrating the video calling service into a variety of its products.
