The traffic congestion kind of sucks, and the rain certainly can be a bummer at times. But, for the most part, Seattleites are generally satisfied with their jobs.
That’s the latest finding from the Glassdoor Employment Satisfaction Report Card, which ranked overall employment satisfaction. Seattle scored a 3.4 rating in the survey, just behind San Jose and San Francisco. Others in the top five included Salt Lake City and Washington D.C.
Does the concentration of tech companies in those cities — where free meals, doggie day care and massages are the norm — have anything to do with that?
Likely.
Seattleites also are generally optimistic about where things are headed. Forty four percent expect business to get better in the next six months, while 32 percent expect it to stay the same and 24 percent say things will get worse.
The report comes after a positive jobless report this week, which showed the unemployment rate in Seattle dipping to 4.7 percent.
So, look me in the eye and tell me that I am satisfied.
