GeekWire is more than a technology news site. It’s a community, tied together by a common belief that technology and innovation can change the world — and that the Seattle region has a unique role to play in that transformation.

We feel privileged as journalists to help foster that community, and we are honored that so many of you have joined us as readers, contributors, attendees and more.

Today we’re excited to unveil a new program that gives you a chance to increase your support for GeekWire’s mission and play a deeper role in the Pacific Northwest tech community: The GeekWire Annual Membership.

With this one-of-a-kind membership not only will you be “good to geek” with VIP access to nine great events during the year, but you’ll also receive exclusive benefits and special perks along the way — including a chance to put your own message on the GeekWire home page for the full year, extra drink tickets at signature events, a special GeekWire keytag with a secret code for access to a members-only page and much more.

In other words, the GeekWire membership is a great way to boost your geek cred and participate in some of the most important tech events of the year, all while supporting GeekWire’s mission of fostering the local tech community through independent journalism.

Nearly 3,000 people attended our events last year, gaining valuable insights and advice from software pioneer Ray Ozzie; Zulily CEO Darrell Cavens; Box co-founder Aaron Levie and many other notable tech leaders. Important connections have been made over games of ping pong or while raising a glass of Champagne.

This year, our events are shaping up to be better than ever, starting with our first Meetup on February 13th, a fireside chat with Tableau Software CEO Christian Chabot.

No matter what your level of Geekdom, we’ve got the right membership program for you, whether it be a GeekWire Super Pass, a Gold Pass or Startup Pass. Details here:

Startup Pass: This membership is perfect for current and aspiring entrepreneurs, and anyone with an interest in emerging startups and technologies.

Cool idea! Too bad I’m not in Seattle. Any such thing in NYC?

Are the passes to events good only for the pass holder, or can we give them away to folks on the team if I can’t make it? Would be cool to have a ‘startup pass’ with a pack of passes.
