Ed Lazowska and Hank Levy are two of the University of Washington’s best known computer science professors. And while they are mainstays on campus and in the community, we’ve never seen them quite like this before.

It is typical to see star athletes immortalized in this way on campus, but pretty rare for the geeks to get their due. We’re not sure who made the shirt, but seeing Lazowska and Levy in the middle of the Google logo certainly cracked us up.
And, given the tight market for engineering and computer science minds in the region, there’s certainly a need for big tech companies like Google, Amazon.com, Microsoft and Facebook to woo (some may say butter up) faculty and researchers.
Will a T-shirt do the trick?
Plenty of University of Washington computer science grads have landed gigs at Google in the recent past. In fact, the Seattle office was previously led by former UW computer science professor Brian Bershad.
