Pirq is moving beyond the restaurant business, announcing today that its mobile app now includes real-time deals in categories such as retail, recreation and beauty. It also rolled out a new digital punch card service that allows consumers to compile rewards from local merchants.

Like the coupon offering, users of the app compile points for checking in at a local merchant by scanning a Microsoft Tag with their smartphone. New retailers using the service include Metamorphosis Salon in San Jose, Rock Star Tan Bar in Bothell; Extreme Pita in Kent and Dairy Queen in Edmonds.

“Pirq 2.0 enables consumers to easily manage all of their punch cards through one smartphone app, in addition to receiving great local rewards and deals,” explains CEO James Sun. “The more consumers use our service, the more rewards they receive.”

Kirkland-based Pirq also touted its $1.2 million financing round, a deal that we noted last month. Total funding in the company now stands at $3.2 million.

Sun is a well known Seattle area entrepreneur, in part due to his starring role in Donald Trump’s The Apprentice.

The new version of the app is available for both Android and iOS.
