Microsoft this morning took another step to expand the world of Xbox 360 games to Apple iOS devices, releasing a version of its Kinectimals mobile game for iPhone and iPad.

As with the Windows Phone version, the mobile game for iOS is a companion to Kinectimals on Xbox 360, allowing players to interact with their virtual pets and unlock five new Kinectimals cubs on their game console.

The app for iPhone and iPad sells for $2.99, the same price as the Windows Phone version.

Separately, Microsoft last week released an Xbox Live app for iPhone and iPad, with features including messaging and avatar management, but not yet the ability to browse and launch media on the Xbox 360, a capability of the similar Windows Phone app.

“The app for iPhone and iPad sells for $2.99, the same price as the Windows Phone version.”

In the US. In the UK, it apparently sells for less on iPhone. Perhaps in other geographies as well. That’s not very smart on MS’s part.

I imagine that will get rectified.
