The Pacific Northwest has been a hub for grit and innovation, but the spirit of resilience was on full display this year at the 2025 Deloitte Technology Fast 500 awards ceremony in Seattle. Despite a market landscape defined by AI breakthroughs, volatile funding, and rapid sector convergence, regional companies once again defied the odds, driving record-setting growth.
Now in its 31st year, the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 continues to celebrate North America’s fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences, fintech, and energy tech companies. Honorees are selected based on percentage fiscal year revenue growth from 2021 to 2024 (measurement period). At this year’s ceremony, 18 Pacific Northwest organizations—ranging from industry giants to breakout startups—earned places on the list, including five companies new to the ranking and five securing top 200 positions nationally.
This year’s top-ranked regional winner, Teal Communications, achieved a remarkable 2,961% growth rate. Other notable standouts included Copper, with a 1,447% surge, and Esper, marking its third Fast 500 appearance.
Honorees at a Glance
Winners collectively spanned a broad spectrum of sectors—reflecting the region’s diversification:
- Connectivity & IoT: Teal Communications (#1 regional, #39 nationally) achieved strong revenue growth over the Fast 500 measurement period, ranking first in its region and 39th nationally.

This year’s list presented a microcosm of modern business transformation.
Scaling Smart: Finding the Right Customers
A recurring challenge for this year’s honorees was scaling, particularly for companies selling hardware-enabled or complex platforms Data-driven customer segmentation and adaptive planning emerged as table stakes for growth according to the panelists who also stressed the importance of evolving strategies and refining annual operating plans as markets shift.
Solving Real Problems & Navigating Complexity
Many winners tackle big, global problems—from cross-border logistics to cutting-edge fintech—but complexity and compliance were top of mind. FlavorCloud CEO Rathna Sharad emphasized that maintaining focus is essential to simplifying global trade while enabling profitable growth.
From Endless Growth to Capital Discipline
The post COVID-19 pandemic era has reframed priorities for the growth companies. According to the panelists, the “growth at all costs” playbook has faded, replaced by sharp eyes on unit economics, retention, and product-market fit. Copper CEO Eddie Behringer noted that trust and utility are central to long-term survival and success.
AI: Promise and Competitive Edge
Artificial intelligence was the breakout topic of the night. While every company has an AI story, panelists illuminated both its operational advantages and its uncertainties. Behringer observed that excitement and unease often go hand-in-hand with AI adoption, and that while many companies are not yet truly AI-native, AI can deliver significant operational impact. Sharad described how FlavorCloud applies machine learning and Generative AI to solve complex problems and boost productivity. Robert Hamblet, Teal CEO, highlighted AI’s role in enabling new business models and making marketing more accessible at scale.
Shaping Teams for the AI Era
Talent and culture are evolving as quickly as the tech. For Sharad, strong, distributed teams and clear values matter most, with an emphasis on establishing core values to help teams achieve goals together. At Teal, Hamblet underscored how in-person time can accelerate momentum and help build durable culture.
Seattle’s Enduring Tech Advantage
The panel closed by celebrating Seattle’s ecosystem: technical depth, collaborative spirit, and a source of specialized talent. Sharad pointed to the city as a standout environment for supply chain and logistics, while Hamblet described it as a sleeper ecosystem where exceptional engineering talent quietly powers global innovation. While local venture capital and reinvestment continue to evolve, founders agree that fostering this environment is a shared, long-term endeavor.
